Details: (from the manufacturer): Captain's Log is a sandbox board game where you command a colonial-era ship and compete against other players to become the most famous captain of all. The game begins with choosing your ship. You can choose between a fast and agile, but fragile, vessel; a balanced ship, if you prefer to play it safe; or a heavy and slow, but sturdy, ship. You can transform your ship into a fearsome warship and plunder boarded vessels, or into the fastest sailing ship ever imagined. You can trade in the market to obtain doubloons, increase your crew, improve your weapons and cargo capacity, enlist in a mission and earn a reward, explore the ocean in search of treasure, fight against or alongside other players, and above all, acquire riches. Throughout the game, you'll make contact with other ships commanded by your friends (although we know that in a board game it's best not to rely on friendship). As you explore the map, you'll begin to spot other ships belonging to the different nations in the game: Spain, Holland, France, England, pirates, and privateers. During the game, you can decide whether to ally with any of these nations, which will grant you various advantages. However, nothing in life is free, and your actions could lead you to make enemies of other nations, causing their ships to pursue yours and try to sink it in the ocean.
