Players manage lanistas (trainers) and their gladiators, using simple but effective man-to-man combat rules that evolved with house rules for tactics, crowd appeal, and gladiator progression.
Adapted from the Warhammer Fantasy Battle system (or similar ''Legends of'' series) for these rules for historical gladiatorial combat, feature unit stats, weapons, armour, and crowd influence, individual fighter skill, fatigue, and earning renown through linked arena battles, including options for animal fights and chariot combat. Various gladiator types and scenarios, are included.
